Description of the project

"Teen's Tips for Online Confort" is an eTwinning project intended to discover the opinions of teenagers on using the Internet in confort.
The World Wide Web became an environment for communication, work, business and entertainment. The age for young people going online is dropping by the day. However, Internet is also posing risks for them. This project aims at educating kids with a safer, more useful and more pleasant cruise across the World Wide Web. Involved teachers will help their 13-15 years old students to share ideas and experience about safety on the Internet. After discussing the netiquette, the participants will vote for “Top 10-teens tips for online comfort” and will visualize each topic. The students will learn how to use some Web 2.0 tools for presenting the topic, like word mosaic, speaking avatar, creating comics and animation videos, collaborative text editing etc. A questionnaire about online activities of the students will be made. All partners will celebrate the Safer Internet Day 2014. The project combines English language practice and IT

Aims: To provoke the teenagers talk about advantages and disadvantages beeng online. To improve the ICT skills and knowledges about communications online. To improve the language skills. hide
Work process:Activities: 1. Introduction: short introduction of each student via email or eTwinning space entitled. Introduction of schools 2.Constructing the Questionnaire on the usage of networking. Not focused only on the “safety” topic but maybe more general because we want to find out how important social networking is for young people and what language they use while communicating with their native and foreign friends 3. Elaborating on the Internet language teenagers use while communicating in English (abbreviations, smileys etc.) - a mini-dictionary or phrase-book 4. Netiquette 5. Voting for 10 top tips 6. Visualizing the tips February 2014 - celebrating the Safer Internet Day The progress of the project will be assessed on weekly basis.
Expected results: A questionaire about using internet form teenagers for implementing into schools. A multilanguage guide “Top 10-teens tips for online comfort” A data base of drawings, commics, videos, presentations etc on the topic of e-safe.
